Sometimes the cursor is the black one as in OS X by default. Sometimes the cursor is hand (the same when you hover over VM window in windowed mode, symbolizing the "request for mouse/keyboard grab"). When entering fullscreen again, the problem is happening again. When I go to windowed mode, the problem disappears. Right now my VM is in fullscreen mode and the problem is happening. I will give an independent report (except for statement of the problem itself): I have also tried changing the Gaming preference to no effect.Īll the 4 above points are exactly true for me as well with few additions - it's XP Pro SP3, it's the SR Macbook Pro, NVidia 8600 graphics/128 MB. Switching the VM from Full Screen to Windowed mode and then, back to Full Screen also does not correct the problem. I must shutdown the VM and then, restart VMWare Fusion to correct the problem. I have also determined that simply restarting the XP VM does not correct the problem. I have determined that this only happens when running the VM In full screen mode. And under some circumstances, the mouse pointer will completely disappear inside the VM after a space swtich Instead, the mouse pointer continues to be displayed as the OS X hand pointer even though the XP VM has control of the mouse. But after some time (a day or two or perhaps after bring my MacBook Pro out of sleep mode.I have not determined the exact scenario), using spaces to switch to space #2 containing my XP VM will no longer change the mouse pointer from the hand cursor displayed by OS X to the Windows set of pointers. Usually, when I switch to the space containing my full screen VM, Fusion will allow Windows XP to redisplay the mouse cursor using its the Windows of mouse pointers. OS X will switch the mouse pointer to the hand cursor when Spaces is activated even when quickly switching between spaces. I use either the mouse or the keyboard to switch from Spaces desktop #1 to #2 quite often. I leave my Windows XP VM running all of the time. Gaming preference is set to Auto-detect mouse for gaming VM is running Windows XP Professional in Full Screen, 3D graphics is turned off Spaces configured for 4 desktops, VMWare Fusion assigned to space #2 MacBook Pro running Leopard with all patches downloaded and installed
